The City of Barrie’s Business and Employer Data Survey is conducted annually by the City’s Economic Development Department in Invest Barrie. The goal of the survey is to collect up-to-date business data and create a comprehensive list of all Barrie businesses operating in the City’s employment and commercial areas, which can be broken down by industry.

The data collected will provide insight into the City’s economic landscape and help the City make informed decisions to better support organizations and residents. This data will also allow the City to better monitor key business sectors, business longevity, and employment trends. The Business and Employer Data Survey began in 2021, and the City now has five years of data, providing a solid foundation for understanding Barrie’s economic landscape.

Participation is voluntary and offers businesses the opportunity to grow business-to-business relationships, learn about new organizations, and be included in the directory. Information not published in the online directory will be used for internal analysis.

Survey participants get a free listing in an annual business directory and gain access to information on local businesses. For more information, visit investbarrie.ca/BEDS.
